The City Caractère

Posted by Kartika Winata on

The City Caractère is an everyday timepiece for the active man, displaying only the essential: hours, minutes, seconds and date. With its iconic elliptical shape, statement of the deLaCour excellence, the City Caractère is elegant, with a hint of non-conformity.

This timepiece features an open architectural dial with a plunging construction, which reminds one of an amphitheatre.

The dial is streaked and circled with Arabic numerals, suggesting an arena with its tracks, bleachers, arcades and robust columns.

However, the most impressive feature is found within the outline structure; made of sapphire and brought towards the center, giving the impression of floating SuperLuminova numerals.

The skeleton hands tipped with luminescent markers are in perfect harmony with the dials’ design. The red second- hand allows a better reading of the seconds that tick the hours away.

A circled date window is positioned at 3 o’clock.

On the mechanical side, the City Caractère is equipped with a self-winding movement. As for its water resistance, it is certified up to 5 atmospheres.

This watch comes with a comfortable black rubber strap offering flexibility to the wrist of its owner.

The City Caractère is most certainly a sober and timeless piece of the City collection. With its atypical lines, it’s a statement of the deLaCour distinction. Reconciling watchmaking tradition with the audacity of avant-garde timepieces.
